Chinese Tea Types

The history of Chinese tea can date back to more than 4,000 years ago. It was said that the legendary Emperor Shennong was the first cultivator of Chinese tea.

Chinese tea can be classified in many ways, such as place of production, method of production, quality, etc. Among them, the method of production is the most popular way. Generally, Chinese tea can be classified into four categories, namely white, green, oolong and black tea.

Zhong Wuyan

Zhong Wuyan, who is regarded as one of the worst-looking women in Chinese history, was the queen of the King Qixuan of the Qi State in the Warring States Period (475-221BC.). Her original name was Zhong Lichun but she was widely known as Zhong Wuyan since she came from Wuyan County.

 

According to historical records, Zhong wuyan was very ugly. She was a dark-skinned woman with a projecting forehead, an upturned nose and a disproportionately big head. Due to her appearance, she remained single until she was 40 years old. Read more »

Ancient City Pingyao

Pingyao Ancient City is located in the middle of Shanxi province and is regarded as one of the four wholly-protected ancient cities in China. It has a history of more than 2700 years. In 1997, it was listed as the world cultural heritage.
