Century Eggs

Century eggs, also known as 1000-year-old eggs, preserved eggs, millennium eggs and pidan, are a traditional Chinese delicacy. It is said that the century egg has over five centuries of history behind its production. The discovery of century eggs can date back to the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644).
Century eggs are made by coating duck or chicken eggs in a clay-like mixture of wood ash, quicklime, tea, earth, and salt. The mixture hardens around eggs and results in the curing and creation of century eggs instead of spoiled eggs. Read the rest of this entry »

The history of Chinese tea can date back to more than 4,000 years ago. It was said that the legendary Emperor Shennong was the first cultivator of Chinese tea.
Chinese tea can be classified in many ways, such as place of production, method of production, quality, etc. Among them, the method of production is the most popular way. Generally, Chinese tea can be classified into four categories, namely white, green, oolong and black tea.

Tea Eggs

Tea egg, also known as Chinese marbled egg, is one of the most famous snacks across China.
