Fireworks originated in China. In ancient times, fireworks were used not only to scare away beasts and evils, but also to pray for happiness and prosperity.

Mahjong

Mah-jong-01

Mahjong, also called mah-jongg or ma jiang, is a game of skill, strategy, calculation and a certain degree of luck. Usually played by four players, the game originated in China and is now played in different forms throughout Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, etc.

There were several versions about the origin for this game. Some people believed that Confucius, the great Chinese philosopher, developed the game in about 500 BC. Some said that it was invented by an ancient Chinese strategist who used tiles to mock battle formations.
