Cricket fighting, also called Qiuxing or Dou Cuzhi in Chinese, is a form of entertainment in ancient China. Ancient Chinese played it for seeking fun from the fighting of crickets.
Cricket fighting has a long history in China which can date back to the Tang dynasty (618 – 907A.D.). During the Song dynasty (960 – 1279A.D.), it became a popular form of entertainment. Later, it continued to flourish in Ming and Qing Dynasties (1616-1911). Read the rest of this entry »
Chinese Acrobatics

Chinese Acrobatics, also called varied skills and music in ancient times, is a form of traditional performing art which has a long history of more than two thousand years in China. It is a pearl of the treasure house of the Chinese art.
Chinese Acrobatic sprouted during the Neolithic Age (about 8,000 years ago). Then in the Qin Dynasty (221BC – 206 BC), it formed its own characteristics. During the Sui Dynasty (581-618), it reached its maturity, becoming a popular performing art among people of all ranks and classes. Ancient Football Game – Cuju

Cuju, literally means ball kicking, is an ancient Chinese game which is regarded as the origin of present-day football.

Jiuling, as one of the Chinese drinking game, is a kind of game played to add fun while drinking. It is an inseparable part of Chinese alcohol culture.
It has a long history in China which can date back to the Western Zhou Dynasty (1100 BC-771 BC). Originally, it was used to regulate people’s drinking habits and later during the Warring States Period (476 BC – 221 BC), it evolved to be a way of adding their enjoyment while drinking.
